Core Aeration
As we move through the dog days of summer, it is time to start thinking about revitalizing your lawn from the summer heat and prepare it for a beautiful fall season. Aeration is one of the most beneficial things you can do to your lawn to totally rejuvenate it. Here are a few of our favorite reasons why aeration is so good for your turf:
- Compacted soil and/or any heavy thatch layer are broken up. This allows your lawn to breathe!
- Your lawn will take up water and nutrients more efficiently. A big plus is the quality of your water actually improves with aeration, because water is allowed to stay in the lawn, easing runoff issues.
- All of those holes created in the lawn by the aerator are perfect little seed beds! This makes overseeding so much more effective and easier to do after aeration has been done.
- Your lawn is just plain healthier!
We hope you will seriously consider aerating your lawn this fall. If you would like any assistance or advice in doing so, our Lawn Cure staff would be happy to help!
